Chernobyl Children’s Life Line

Chernobyl Children’s Life Line

Last month saw our second successive year of hosting the Chernobyl visit, on behalf of the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line Charity. Many thanks are due, with a great turnout from several local businesses and authorities alike providing food and gifts for the children, as well as a fun day out for all involved. Start-rite provided the children with shoes prior to them joining us for a BBQ consisting of a range of food donated by Makro wholesalers. There were gifts of soft toys from Natwest staff, books from Bertrams, and goodie bags compiled by a member our accounts staff, Jayne.

With the sun beaming down, Seething Airfield Fire & Rescue were on site, along with two of our local Community Police from the Broadland area, complete with fire engine and a police van, whilst Brands of Beccles completed the line-up, bringing a tractor unit and giving rides around the site, much to the amusement of the children. Even the local media turned up, as the Anglia TV news cameras added a small feeling of stardom and glamour to an all-round successful day.

A huge thanks to everyone that made the day possible, and we look forward to the potential of another visit next year!
