The Norfolk Spring Fling is an annual event at the Norfolk Showground that encourages children to learn about food, farming and the countryside. The East of England Co-operative Society kindly invited McCarthys along to provide some fun activities for the children to promote healthy eating. Joe and Vicki came up with the idea of ‘fruit faces’ for the children to design themselves using a range of fresh fruit and vegetables provided by McCarthys. Once the children had designed their fruit faces they could take them away with them to eat. The stand endured a long, non-stop bombardment from children of all ages until the 500+ plates had all been used. With help from chief-chopper Martin McCarthy, the team soldiered on and with positive feedback from parents and exhibitors alike, making it a great day all round!
